Howdy! Y’all loved my last coffee crawl! It was the biggest hit I’ve had since remodeling my page (having a website down for 2 weeks really does a number on your google ranking…), so I’m back with another edition Coffee Crawl! This time it is Wicked Snow in Carrollton, Texas! Technically, Wicked Snow is a dessert cafe, not a coffee shop, but they offer all the same items as a coffee shop plus shaved ice.
I discovered this place when Noel and I went to sing Korean Karaoke on New Year’s Eve. Let’s just say, this cafe does not disappoint! I’m excited to share Wicked Snow with y’all! Quick side note, not all of these pictures are mine, several come from the Facebook page. I haven’t become brave enough yet to take my own camera to these coffee shops. One day I will work up the courage! Anyways, enough dilly-dallying, let’s hop on into the post!
Location
Wicked Snow is located in an area of Carrollton that I believe is called Koreatown. If you know where H-Mart is in Carrollton, you’ll be able to find Wicked Snow pretty easily! Wicked Snow is open Mon thru Sat 10:00 am to 10:00 pm & Sunday 11:00 am to 10:00 pm. Basically, you should have no trouble stopping by for a beverage or dessert unless you try going in the morning!
Appearance
Wicked Snow is adorably decorated! It’s has a spooky, dramatic, witch vibe mixed with a clean cafe and luxury, princess room feel. There are plenty of tables to accommodate any size party you are with. Additionally, all of their desserts are on display, which makes it really easy to know what you are ordering (after all, several of the items are Korean and without a picture, I probably would have no idea what I ordered).
Menu
As previously mentioned, what really sets Wicked Snow apart from other coffee shops, is that it is also a dessert cafe! Shaved ice cream is what they are known for. I haven’t yet tried that, although not only does it look delicious, apparently it is a healthier option than regular ice cream? I can’t verify those claims.
They offer all your basic coffee shop beverages. In fact, Noel said the cappuccino was really tasty! In my opinion, if you go to Wicked Snow, you MUST get the traditional Korean Ginger Tea. This tea is so delicious I can’t even describe how wonderful it is! It is made with ginger, honey, and pine nuts! Seriously, you won’t be let down if you try this.
Another must-try at Wicked Snow is the Bungeoppang, or Korean Fish-shaped Pastry. This pastry is a sweet bread shaped like a fish, traditionally filled with sweetened red bean paste. Wicked Snow offers more flavors than just the red bean paste, such as Nutella. I’ve had both the red bean paste and Nutella, and they are equally delicious! Keep in mind, the red bean paste is different if you are not used to Asian styled sweets.
Overall, Wicked Snow is a great cafe to check out, particularly if you want a unique experience! If only they sold mugs… (for reference, I am trying to collect mugs from all my favorite coffee shops!) Let me know if you’ve ever tried a Korean styled cafe before, and what your favorite item to order is there!
