Howdy, love bugs! It’s officially valentine’s season! What does that mean? Well, Target having adorable new decor is what it means! I went to Target the other week and saw this cute heart-shaped valentine’s wall decor, but ultimately didn’t buy it because it was 6 dollars. I just couldn’t see the point in spending that much on a little wall item that didn’t really match my apartment. So what did I do? Made my own DIY Valentines wall decor!
Since I already owned all the material for this DIY, it cost me nothing. However, if you’re going to be purchasing the material, you’ll still save $2.78 vs. buying the valentine’s wall decor in store.
Material Needed:
- Wire
- Yarn( 3 colors ideally. Mine was actually 1 ball of yarn with multiple colors in it.)
- To begin, you’re going to want to cut three pieces of wire roughly 2 feet long.
- You’ll then braid the three strains together, and then twist them into a knot at the end.
- After you have your strand braided, you’ll want to bend the wire into a heart shape.
- Now take about 2 inch long strands of yarn looped together (roughly four times). Taking the part that is still connected, tie it onto your wire frame. Once you have about three on either side, cut the yarn to be even.
- Taking a little strand of yarn, tie it to either end of the heart as a hanger
That’s it! Now you have a super cute (and cheap!) DIY Valentines wall decor! Honestly, depending on what color yarn you used, you can really have this hanging up any time! I know mine will probably be on my wall for a while! If you want more Valentine’s DIY, check out this DIY wreath and DIY Garland! They are older posts on this blog, but still good!
