Star-Studded Boots | Thrift Flip

Ok, is it just me or do you have one influencer whom you are actually very influenced by? Katy Bellotte is that gal for me. I found her my last semester of college from her podcast, “Thick & Thin”. After one listen, I was hooked. Not only does she have a bomb podcast, but her youtube & Instagram content curation is so pleasing to watch/look at! In fact, I like her style so much, that when she had a sponsored post about Fossil watches, I bought the watch. Now, while I can totally see paying a fair penny for a watch, I cannot accept paying my entire monthly budget for clothes on a pair of fashion boots. So, when she shared a post featuring these gorgeous star-studded boots from Aldo, I knew I wanted them! However, my wallet said otherwise. What’s a gal to do? Thrift flip and DIY my own star-studded boots, of course!

Thrift flipping items is so fun because you get something very cute for little money. If you need some thrifting tips, be sure to check out my tips for thrifting here on the blog! I found these boots for only 10 dollars! I already owned the other supplies, so talk about saving a ton of money in comparison to the Aldo star-studded boots!

Materials Needed

  • White Boots
  • E600 glue
  • Star Studs
  • White Paint (optional)

The Process

To begin, I cut off the “stud” part of the star studs so that they’d be easy to glue to the shoe.

Next, and this is optional, I painted the back of the boot white because there was a snake skin pattern that I just didn’t vibe with. Of course, your boots may not have this or if they do you might like it!

Once, the boot was dry, I carefully used the E600 glue to put the stars randomly along the heel of the boot. E600 glue takes about 48 hours to dry so be sure to let the stars dry completely before wearing them.

That’s it! I paired the boots with this prairie style dress that I just thought screamed Katy Bellotte. Boy did I feel confident in that outfit! No wonder her photos always look top-notch!
